The Competition Appeals Committee has upheld ICA´s decisison to approve the merger of Hagar hf, Olíuverzlun Íslands hf. (Olís) and DGV ehf.

TheCompetition Appeals Committee has upheld ICA´s decisison to approve the mergerof Hagar hf, Olíuverzlun Íslands hf. (Olís) and DGV ehf. A rival company, Samkaup hf., sought to get the ICA´s approval of the merger overturned. The Authority approved the merger in last September, upon a settlement with the merging parties where several conditions were set in order to strenghen and potecting competition in the fuel and grocery markets. The conditions include the sale of grocery stores, sale of fuel stations and access to wholesale, storing and distribution of fuel.
