  The Icelandic Competition Authority has examined the merger between Samhentir Kassagerð hf. and Frjó Umbúðasalan ehf. Samhentir is owned by Innís ehf. and a few individuals. Samhentir specializes in wholesale for packaging, devices and equipment for packaging and other supplies, mostly for the fishing industry, food industry and other industries and resalers. Frjó is also a wholesaler for packing, equipment for packaging and supplies. After an investigation the Icelandic Competition Authority concludes that there is not a reason to believe that the merger will lead to a harmful concentration. Consequently there is no reason to intervene in this merger on the basis of Article 17 of the Icelandic Competition Act.
