The Icelandic Competition Authority investigated the purchase by Alfa hf., SF VII ehf. and Eldeyjar HoldCo of Kynnisferðir ehf., Eldey THL hf. and subsidiaries.

The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has reviewed the purchase by Alfa hf., SF VII ehf. and Eldeyjar HoldCo of Kynnisferðir ehf., Eldey THL hf. and subsidiaries.

ICA's conclusion is that the merger does neither give rise to a dominant position nor strengthening of such a position in any market. Moreover, nothing indicates that the merger is liable to cause appreciable harm to competition in other ways. Therefore, there is no reason to intervene in this merger on the basis of Article 17 c of the Icelandic Competition Act no. 44/2005.
