Samskip hf. vs. The ICE

In its ruling today, the Icelandic Competition Appeals Committee (“ICAC”) has upheld the Icelandic Competition Authority’s (“ICA”) decision no. 13/2019, from 17 April 2019. Samskip had appealed ICA’s decision to the ICAC, which confirmed ICA’s decision in its ruling today. The ruling is only available in Icelandic.

In its ruling no. 13/2019, had granted exemption for five years, for the cooperation agreement between Eimskips and Royal Arctic Line A/S, that was notified to ICA. The exemption is also subject to certain conditions that are laid out in the decision, also available in English.
