Merger of Top ehf./Bílaumboðsins Öskju ehf. and Lotus Car Rental ehf

A decision was taken in regards to the merger of Top ehf./Bílaumboðin Öskju ehf. and Lotus Car Rental ehf. The activities of the merging parties do not overlap in such a way that there was a reason for intervention. The markets of the case included for example (a) import and sale of new cars, (b) car repair services, (c) short-term rental of cars. After investigation it was concluded that there was no reason for intervention, as there was no evidence that a market dominant position was being created or that the merger otherwise led to a significant distortion of competition.
