Merger of Festi hf. and Íslensk orkumiðlun ehf.

The Competition Authority has examined the merger of Festi hf. and Íslensk orkumiðlun ehf. (IOM). Festi is a company that operates among other things fuel stations under the brand N1 and grocery stores under the Krónan brand. IOM is a company that sells electricity to end users, both consumers and companies.

It is the conclusion of the Competition Authority that the merger of Festi hf. and IOM does not lead to a strengthening of a dominant position, or significant lessening of competition. For this reason, the Authority concludes that there are no grounds for action in this case.
