Vinnslustöðinn hf.´s acquisition of 75 pct. shares in Hólmasker ehf

The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has examined Vinnslustöðinn hf.´s acquisition of 75 pct. shares in Hólmasker ehf. Vinnslustöðinn hf. is a fishing and fish processing company and operates six fishing vessels. Hólmasker ehf. is a fish processing company that will operate the fish processing company formerly owned by Stakkholt ehf.

The ICA concluded that there were no grounds to intervene because of the merger, as there were no indications that a dominant market position would be formed or that the merger would otherwise lead to a significant distortion of competition.
