Skinneyjar-Þinganess hf. og Nesfisks acquisition of all shares in Háteigur Fiskverkun ehf.

The Competition Authority in Iceland has examined the acquisition of Skinneyjar-Þinganess hf. and  Nesfiskur ehf. of all shares in Háteigur fiskverkun ehf. Skinney-Þinganes and Nesfiskur are independent companies engaged in fishery and fish processing and purchase Háteigur in equal shares. Háteigur is not engaged in fisheries but buys raw fish material to process dry fish heads for export mainly to Nigeria. The Competition Authority in Iceland came to the conclusion that there is no reason to interfere in this  merger on the basis of  Article 17 of the Competition Act.
