Merger of SÍA IV slhf., Stefnir hf. and Arna ehf

A conglomerate merger where a fund operated by Stefnir hf. and Arion Bank hf. buys the majority of shares in Arna ehf. The parties are not operating in the same markets, and the merger therefore had a limited effect on competition. The aim of the transaction is to strengthen the operations of Arna ehf. Arna ehf. is an important smaller competitor in the market for dairy products, mainly due to the dominant position of larger competitors such as MS, and also KS.
