Merger of Nesnúpur ehf. and Aflhlutir ehf

The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has examined Nesnúpur ehf.´s merger with Aflhlutir ehf. Nesnúpur ehf. operates in construction, contracting, buying/selling/operating machinery, equipment and real estate along with financial and credit and related operations. Its day-to-day operations consist primarily of the operation of real estate projects. Aflhlutir ehf.´s operations consists of the sale and service of equipment solutions to companies in the fisheries industry and to industrial contractors. The ICA concluded that there were no grounds to intervene because of the merger, as there were no indications that a dominant market position would be formed or that the merger would otherwise lead to a significant distortion of competition.
