Merger of Nesfiskur ehf. and Flatfiskur ehf

The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has examined Nesfiskur ehf.´s merger with Flatfiskur ehf. Nesfiskur ehf. is a fishing and seafood processing company that exports seafood. Flatfiskur ehf. is a company that specialises in purchasing flatfish for processing and export. The ICA concluded that there were no grounds to intervene because of the merger, as there were no indications that a dominant market position would be formed or that the merger would otherwise lead to a significant distortion of competition.
