Acquisition of Valka ehf. by Marel Iceland ehf

The Competition Authority has examined the merger of Marel Iceland ehf., a subsidiary of Marel hf., and Valka ehf. Marel and Valka work in both produce and service equipment used for many aspects of food processing. Marel's main activity is the production of machines for processing meat, poultry, and fish. Valka's operations are in the field of machines for fish processing. Following an extensive investigation, the Authority concluded that there were no grounds for intervention in the merger.
