Decision No. 29/2017. Merger of Artasan ehf. (Veritas Capital ehf.) and IceCare ehf.

The Competition Authority has reviewed the acquisition by Artasan ehf. of IceCare ehf. Both undertakings were active in the market for import and wholesale of vitamins, minerals and supplements. During the Competition Authority's review of the merger, it became evident that the merging parties had a strong market position in supplements for joints. With a settlement, the merging parties agreed to a remedy that involved the divestment of IceCare's current portfolio in joint supplements.
