Merger of Jómfrúin eignarhaldsfélag ehf. and Snaps ehf.

The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has reviewed a merger between Jómfrúin eignarhaldsfélag ehf. and Snaps ehf. Both undertakings operate restaurants, on the one hand the restaurant Jómfrúin and on the other the restaurant Snaps. Jómfrúin eignarhaldsfélag ehf. has acquired a 100% share in Snaps ehf. and therefore has full control of that undertaking.

After investigating the merger and assessing information on the markets involved, the ICA deems it so that the merger will neither give rise to a dominant position nor strengthen a dominant position in this case. The merger will not lead to disruption of competition in the relevant markets to an appreciable extent. Therefore, there is no intervention in the merger on behalf of the ICA.
