Acquisition of the music service Tonlist.is by 365 miðlar ehf., from D3 Miðlar ehf. (Merger)

The Competition Authority has reviewed the acquisition by 365 miðlar ehf., a media company, of the music service Tonlist.is. The acquisation of the music service by the media company constitutes a merger within the meaning of article 17 of the Competition Act. Prior to the transaction Tonlist.is was an asset of D3 Miðlar, a subsidiary of Sena ehf., an undertaking active in the entertainment sector in Iceland and a wholeseller of music, computer games and movies. After reviewing the facts of the case the Competition Authority concluded that the merger would neither harm competition according to the Competition Act nor plurality in the media according to article 62. b of the Act on Media, no. 38/2011.
