  The Competition Authority has completed an investigation into the merger of TT3 ehf. and SRX ehf. and Ormsson ehf. SRX is an international wholesaler of electronic goods, mainly mobile phones and electric scooters. Ormsson’s main activity is the import and sale of household appliances, televisions and stereos to consumers. The companies only operate partially in the same sector, i.e. the market for retail sales of small household appliances and the market for retail sales of peripheral products. The vertical overlap of the parties’ activities in this market only concerns headphones. The Icelandic Competition Authority concluded that the investigation of the case did not indicate that there are no grounds for taking action regarding the merger on the basis of Article 17. c. of the Competition Act No. 44/2005.
