  The Competition Authority has completed an investigation into the merger of Ísmar ehf. and Fálkan hf. Ísmar specializes in the sale and service of equipment for all types of land surveying, machine controls and laser technology. As for Fálkan's operations, the merger notifaction states that it specializes in car and engine parts, mechanical engineering products and electrical engineering products and operates a store and service workshop at Dalvegur 10-14 in Kópavogur.

  Following the investigation and taking into account the case files, the Icelandic Competition Authority concluded that the merger does not impede effective competition and does not lead to the creation of a dominant position. It also does not lead to competition on the market being significantly distorted in other respects. Therefore, there are no grounds for taking action regarding the merger on the basis of Article 17. c. of the Competition Act No. 44/2005.
