  The Icelandic Competition Authority investigated the merger of FoodCo hf. and Gleðipinnar ehf. FoodCo owns and operates restaurants under seven different trademarks in the capital area. Gleðipinnar owns and operates a Bowling Alley and restaurants under three different trademarks.

  Following the investigation of the case, it was the opinion of the Competition Authority that the merger would neither create nor strengthen a dominant position of the merged company, or significantly distort competition. Therefore, there were no grounds for intervention because of the merger.
