  The Icelandic Competition Authority has examined the merger between Pressan ehf. and ÍNN- Ísland Nýjasta Nýtt ehf. ÍNN is a private limited holding company that operates on the retail market for TV channels to end-users and the market for selling advertising space on TV channels. Pressan is a media company mainly operating on the market for newspapers and sale of advertising space in newspapers and the market for internet and digital media and sale of advertising space in internet and digital media.  With the merger Pressan acquires control and operations of ÍNN.  

  After investigating the merger and assessing information on the markets involved, the ICA deems it so that the merger will neither give rise to a dominant position or strengthen a dominant position in this case. The merger will not lead to disruption of competition in the relevant markets to an appreciable extent. Therefore, there is no intervention in the merger on behalf of the ICA.
