    The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has examined the acquisition of Síldarvinnslan hf. of all shares in Gullberg ehf. and the fish processing plant of Brimberg ehf. Síldarvinnslan hf. is one of the main fisheries and fish processing undertakings in Iceland. Gullberg ehf. is a fishery undertaking and operates one trawler. Brimberg ehf. operates a fish processing plant and buys raw material from third parties including Gullberg ehf. The ICA came to the conclusion that there is no reason for intervention in this merger on the basis of Article 17 of the Competition Act.
