    The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has examined the merger of Landvélar ehf. and Fálkinn hf. The merged entity will be part of Vélsmiðja Hjalta Einarssonar ehf. (VHE), which is a contractor in diverse maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) projects for diverse industries. A number of companies are owned by VHE, most of them operate in related businesses, such as wholesalers for the MRO industry. After an investigation, the ICA came to the conclusion that the merger will not have negative effects on domestic competition. Consequently there is no reason to intervene in this merger on the basis of Article 17 of the Icelandic Competition Act.
