  The Competition Authority in Iceland has examined the merger of Icelandic Ný-Fisks hf. and Útgerðarfélag Sandgerðis ehf. Fiskval hf. is engaged in fish processing in Reykjanes community and is a subsidiary of Icelandic Group which is an international company who produces and sell fresh, chilled and frosen seafood on the international market. Útgerðafélag Sandgerði is a fishing company who operates one fishing vessel from Vestmannaeyjar. The Competition Authority in Iceland came to the conclusion that there is no reason to interfere in this merger on the basis of Article 17 of the Competition Act.
