  The Competition Authority in Iceland has examined Fiskval hf. acquisition of Ný-Fiskur ehf. operations. Fiskval hf. is primarily engaged in the processing of flatfish in Reykjanes community and is a subsidiary of Icelandic Group which is an international company who produces and sell fresh, chilled and frosen seafood on the international market. Ný-Fiskur hf. is primarily engaged in the processing of cod products as well as products from haddock, catfish and redfish. Ný-Fiskur subsidiary is the fishing company Útgerðarfélag Sandgerðis ehf. but the subsidiary did not include in this merger. The Competition Authority in Iceland came to the conclusion that there is no reason to interfere in this merger on the basis of Article 17 of the Competition Act.
