The acquisition by Motormax ehf. of Bílanaust ehf.'s estate

The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has had under investigation the merger resulting from the acquisition by Motormax ehf. of all assets of Bílanaust ehf. following the bankruptcy of the latter. After a thorough investigation, it is ICA‘s assessment that there is no reason to believe that the merger that results from this acquisition will either give rise to a dominant market position or have any undesirable effects on competition in the market. Therefore, there is no reason to intervene in this merger on the basis of Article 17 c of the Icelandic Competition Act no. 44/2005.
