The Icelandic Competition Authority has examined acquisition of shares in Emmessís ehf by 1912 ehf. 1912 ehf. is a parent company of Nathan og Olsen hf. and Ekran ehf. Nathan og Olsen hf. runs a wholesale that sells convenience goods and cosmetics to small goods shop and marketing of these products. Emmessís ehf. is a manufacturer of ice cream and sells ice cream in Iceland.

After investigating the merger the Icelandic Competition Authority deems that the merger will not lead to disruption of competition in the markets of the case. Therefore there is no reason to intervene in this merger on the basis of Article 17. c. of the Icelandic Competition Act no. 44/2005.
