Merger of S4S efh. and Ellingsen ehf.

The Icelandic Competition Authority (ICA) has examined the merger between S4S ehf. and Ellingsen ehf. S4S operates in the markets for retail and wholesale of shoes. Ellingsen operates in the same markets but also and mainly in the market for import and sales of outdoor and sporting products. With the merger S4S acquires all shares in Ellingsen and Ellingsen will be operated as a subsidiary of S4S. 

After investigating the merger and assessing information on the markets involved, the ICA deems it so that the merger will not lead to disruption of competition in the relevant markets to an appreciable extent. Therefore, there is no intervention in the merger on behalf of the ICA.
