Change in control of Dælan ehf.

The Icelandic Competition Authority has examined a merger between Dælan ehf. and Port I ehf. Dælan is a company founded in 2018 in relation to Einir’s ehf. purchase of the brand “Dælan”, 5 petrol stations from Festir ehf. which are located in the capital area and contracts, i.a. on oil distribution and fuel purchase. Port I ehf. is a holding company founded in 2018. It invests in different undertakings. Barone I ehf., the sole owner of Port I, also owns Löður ehf. a car wash company.

After investigating the merger the Icelandic Competition Authority deems that the merger will not lead to disruption of competition in the markets of the case. Therefore, there is no reason to intervene in this merger on the basis of Article 17 c. of the Icelandic Competition Act no. 44/2005.
